Professor Seter Siziya has the following degrees: BA-Ed (Mathematics), MSc (Medical Statistics) and PhD (Biology) and a diploma DLSHTM. He is currently a Professor of Medical Biostatistics in the Michael Chilufya Sata School of Medicine of the Copperbelt University. He is the current Dean. Research interests include non-communicable diseases, including tobacco smoking. He worked for ten years in the Tropical Diseases Research Centre, Ndola, Zambia, rising from the post of a Staff Development Fellow to that of a Senior Scientific Officer in statistics; then moved to the University of Zimbabwe where he again worked for ten years rising from the post of a Lecturer to that of a Senior Lecturer. He has published over 400 journal articles in peer-reviewed journals; 95 chapters in books; edited 5 books; edited 2 special journal issues. He has 8507 citations with an h-index of 50 and an i10-index of 157. He was recognized as one of 100 hot authors for BioMed Central journals in 2007; and received a Meritorious award for excellence in research and academic development from the Zambia Medical Association in 2013.
