Aviwe Funani holds the position of Senior Policy and Advocacy Officer at United for Global Mental Health, a global mental health advocacy organisation. She oversees the organisation's Child and Youth portfolio. She also co-chairs the Global Mental Health Action Networks Child and Youth working group. Leveraging her six years of experience in community-based work focused on children and youth in South Africa. Aviwe is a passionate advocate and communicator on the subject of youth mental health, actively engaging in discussions at both national and global levels. Her contributions have been recognised through speaking opportunities on platforms such as the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community, Women Deliver, and Orygen Global.
