Ngozi Erondu PhD, MPH is trained as an infectious disease epidemiologist and is a health system policy and global health governance expert. Her work focuses on strengthening global health security by examining national and international policies that facilitate disease reduction and improve health systems for health emergency preparedness. She is also a scholar activist who champions equity in global health research. Dr Erondu has provided technical support to the Africa Centres for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), Public Health England, the Nigeria CDC, the US CDC, and other governments across sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and southeast Asia. Her technical support is aimed at international health regulation capabilities and institutional capacity to prevent, detect, and control infectious diseases such as COVID-19, Ebola, meningitis, malaria, HIV and poliomyelitis. Dr Erondu is a senior scholar with at the Georgetown Law Centre O’Neill Institute and was a former assistant professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine where she taught disease outbreak response and epidemiology. Dr Erondu has founded multiple social enterprises, including Project Zambezi, a novel tech-enabled logistics approach to improve access to essential medicines throughout sub-Saharan Africa. She is a trustee at the Imperial Health Charity and is a fellow with both the Aspen Institute and the John Hopkins University Emerging Leaders in Biosecurity Programme.
