Abimbola Adebakin

Advantage Health Africa

Abimbola Adebakin is a Certified Performance Technologist (CPT), a Pharmacist, management consultant and tech innovator who is keen to drive performance improvement in the African Healthcare system. She is the Founder/CEO of Advantage Health Africa powering myPharmacy (franchise pharmacy chain + pharmacy resource centre), myMedicines (tech-enabled lastmile access to medication), myAdvantage (health affordability solution via a Community-as-a-Service) as well as a pharmaceutical sales & marketing venture, Advantage Pharma.  

She previously led operations as COO of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, was a consultant at Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC) and at Accenture. She has consulted for the World Bank, AAIN, AfDB IFC (Master Trainer corporate governance for Bank Directors) and facilitates strategy, corporate governance, personal development and other organizational design modules for Institute of Directors (IoD) and FITC. 

She serves on the board of Hallmark HMO as an independent director, Trustee of the Safe Medicines Foundation and is an alumnus of the African Women Entrepreneurship Cooperative (AWEC), Cascador as well as the Joseph Business School (JBS) Nigeria where she emerged the Valedictorian of the pioneer set in 2021. She currently serves as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria (HFN), a coalition of private healthcare sector stakeholders in Nigeria, poised to improve the Nigerian health sector through policy reform and advocacy.

She is a winner, Bayer Foundation Women Empowerment Award (2021) and recipient of the Google Black Founders Fund (2021), winner of the popular vote for yNaija Person of the Year (2021), the JBS Global Entrepreneur of the Year (2022); the Making More Health by Ashoka and Boehringer Ingelheim (2022), 2022 Top 20 of the African Business Heroes (by Jack Ma Foundation) as well as the Investing in Innovation (i3) Africa (2022 cohort).  Additionally, in recognition of her sterling contribution to the growth of the healthcare industry, she received the Super Achiever Award (Healthcare Category) at The Peak Performing Woman of the Year 2023.Abimbola mentors for WIMBIZ (Women in Business) and Google StartUp programme. As a CSR of Advantage Health Africa, she designed and serves as Program Director of The Pharmacists Leadership Stimulant Programme (www.theplsp.com) which promotes career stabilization and skills development for young pharmacists, currently in its 6th year with over 500 pharmacists as participants so far.
