Dr. Violet Kayamba is specialised in internal medicine and gastroenterology. She is a founding fellow of the East, Central, and Southern African College of Physicians, and current president of the Zambia College of Gastroenterology and Nutrition. She is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research, the World Endoscopy Organisation, the African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer, the African Forum for Research and Education in Health, the Consortium of Universities for Global Health and the Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World. She is the current chairperson of the African Oesophageal Cancer Consortium. Dr. Kayamba has several peer-reviewed scientific publications with a main focus on gastrointestinal malignancies.
