The side event is convened by Afya na Haki (Ahaki) and Wemos, for the purpose of amplifying knowledge on regional vaccine production. Ahaki shall rely on its experience under its ARMA Programme www.afyanahaki.org, which aims at supporting policy advocacy on regional manufacturing of vaccines in Africa, while Wemos promotes sustainable manufacturing capacity in Africa as part of its work in the field of access to medicines. This is deeply linked to the Africa CDC’s PAVM Framework for action. Speakers will discuss the capacity of institutions (NMRA, NRAs, DFIs, etc) to support existing and emerging initiatives within the ESA region.
