In 2020, the World Health Assembly adopted the first elimination strategy for cancer in WHO’s history – the Global Strategy towards the Elimination of Cervical Cancer. Since its launch, few countries have made significant progress. This event will spotlight countries’ experiences in implementing cervical cancer prevention, drawing expertise from relevant programs that prioritize women’s involvement in program design, leadership, and driving change. The event will impart a resounding message – that cervical cancer elimination is achievable, but it requires accelerated and collective efforts from decision-makers and change advocates to identify solutions, bolster accountability, and bring the successes to scale.
