CPHIA is committed to engaging with members of the media and welcomes their participation at this year’s conference in Lusaka, Zambia. If you’re interested in conducting any interviews in advance of CPHIA 2023 or if you have any other media questions, please reach out to:
CPHIA Communications, CPHIAcomms@africa-union.org, and
G. Nekerwon Gweh, Communication Officer, Policy, Health Diplomacy & Communication, Africa CDC, GwehN@africa-union.org
Each year, CPHIA extends scholarships to African-based journalists to support their participation in and coverage of the conference. The scholarships cover journalists’ expenses for the duration of the conference, enabling them to engage and connect with key stakeholders in the public health sector who shape public health policy on the continent.
This year, CPHIA is expanding this opportunity by launching the CPHIA Journalism Fellowship Programme, which supports journalists in their coverage across a six-month period. This initiative will provide journalists with the necessary tools to immerse themselves in learning, reporting, and elevating some of the most pressing public health issues on the continent. As part of this Fellowship, journalists will also be supported to attend the 2023 in-person conference in Lusaka, Zambia, where they will be given access to training, side events and panel discussions, exhibitions and conference spokespeople.
