Dr Gudo is the Director General of the National Institute of Health in Mozambique, with over 20 years’ experience in Public Health. Holds a PhD in Immunology and Virology and Senior Post-Doctoral training on Emerging Infectious Diseases
In Mozambique, co-chaired the National Task Force for COVID-19 response and led surveillance activities in response to recent cyclones.
His research interested is focused on Emerging Infectious Diseases, as well as on Climate Change and Health and led the establishment of Climate and Health Observatory in Mozambique. Currently is serving as a member of the Executive Committee of Lancet Commission for Sustainable Health in the subject matter of Climate Change and Health
Dr Gudo also served as the Chair of the Advisory and Technical Committee of the Southern Africa RCC between 2022 and 2023.
Currently is serving as the Chair of the Advisory and Technical Council of Africa CDC.
