Dr Mwansa Ketty Lubeya is an Obstetrics & Gynaecology specialist, Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Zambia-School Medicine. She currently pursuing her PhD in public health at South Africa’s Wits University. She has published research articles on women’s reproductive health in peer-reviewed journals and has made several scientific presentations locally and internationally. Previously, she has been competitively selected in regional leadership programs such as the Mandela Washington Fellowship (2017) and Obama Foundation: African Leaders programme (2018). She is currently saving as Zambia’s Country ambassador for the International Papillomavirus Society.

In August 2018, as a passionate researcher and seasoned leader, she co-founded a leadership-research mentorship program (YES Zamia) for undergraduate medical students and early career doctors to empower them with lifetime skills and change the regional trajectory. Dr Lubeya knows and understands that to change the mentorship narrative in Africa, she must roll up her sleeves and get involved.

Dr Lubeya is a member of several professional associations such as the Zambia Medical Association, Medical Women Association of Zambia, Zambia Association of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians, Pan-African Scientific Research Council.
