Dr. Wasunna Owino is a health economist and seasoned leader of international health projects in Africa. He has over 20 years experience providing technical vision, managerial oversight and technical assistance to donor and government funded health projects in Africa. Dr. Owino joins PharmAccess from the Council of Governors in Kenya where he served as the health finance expert. Previously, he served in senior positions for several USAID projects: Intrahealth International - Human Resources for Health Mechanism in Kenya (2016-2019), Abt Associates - South Sudan HSS Project (2012-2015) and, Futures Group - Policy Project (2001-2012) and, was Research Triangle Institute (RTI)’s Regional Director for HSS (2009-2012). Dr Owino holds a PhD in Health Economics from the University of Sussex and, a MA (Arts) and, BED (Arts) from University of Nairobi.
