Mr Steve Kisakye

Director and Head of Dalberg Implement, Dalberg

Steve is a Partner and Global Managing Director of Dalberg Implement, based in Tanzania.  Steve works in various sectors, including health, climate change, agriculture, livestock and youth employment, predominantly supporting Governments and other partners. His work primarily involves leading teams that drive systems change and provide capacity strengthening by embedding in partner organisations.

He did notable work supporting vaccine rollout, including leading the Vaccination Action Network. This multi-country initiative aimed at improving public sector-led vaccination programs through peer learning and program implementation.

He recently led a team that established and ran the newly launched Africa Public Health Foundation. The Foundation is leading efforts to mobilise resources for Africa CDC’s efforts in improving continental-level public health outcomes. He also leads a team embedded within AfDB, running the Africa Circular Economy Alliance.

Beyond this, he also worked on a multi-partner program that provided new insights into early intervention opportunities for improved ASRH outcomes and life trajectories for adolescents (10 – 11 years old) across Tanzania and globally through discovery learning. Further, he led the Safe Surgery 2020 Initiative, a partnership of organizations to reduce preventable mortality by increasing the quality and volume of surgical and anaesthesia care. He has also extensively defined approaches and commercialized technologies to reduce and eliminate aflatoxins in food crops to enhance food safety and general community health. He was also involved with a private sector-led initiative to deliver urgently required COVID-19 PPE and WASH commodities to vulnerable households across East Africa.
