Tseganeh Amsalu Guracha is a Senior Health Economist at the World Bank currently leading Ethiopia health financing portfolio and health financing policy dialogue with government and development partners in Ethiopia. He has 20 years of experience in leadership, implementation research, policy review and policy dialogues, and priority setting in poor resource settings. Before joining the World Bank in 2016, he worked with Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, Multilateral and Bilateral development partners, civil society organizations and academia in Ethiopia and South Sudan. He was a Senior Health Economic advisor to Ethiopia Ministry of health, Africa regional partnership advisor for philanthropic firms, health systems technical director and lecturer in public university. He has led multiple public expenditure reviews, development of health financing strategy, political economy analysis of health financing reforms, labor market analysis in Ethiopia and supported the same in other countries in the east Africa region. Tseganeh is passionate about sustainable financing for health, health insurance and health sector reforms. Tseganeh is the current chair of board of management of REACH Ethiopia, an NGO focused on innovations and implementation research in the areas of community health and infectious diseases of poverty including Tuberculosis.
