Kerigo Odada is a lawyer, researcher, and advocate with a particular focus on the right to health, specifically sexual and reproductive health and rights. She is a Ph.D. researcher and academic associate at the Centre for Human Rights University of Pretoria. Her research focuses on Obstetric Violence and the Legal Mobilisation For Respectful Maternity Care. Additionally, Kerigo serves as a mentor for the Global Surgery Advocacy Fellowship by Operation Smile, Nkafu Policy Institute and the University of Global Health Equity. Over the years, Kerigo has worked nationally, regionally, and internationally on various advocacy, research and academic projects on reproductive justice, gender equality, violence against women and girls, meaningful youth engagement, and diversity and inclusion. Kerigo is passionate about health equity and strengthening health system governance through co-creation, co-leadership and co-ownership with all relevant stakeholders, especially the youth. Her firm belief is that it is only through an intersectional lens that is youth-centred and feminist-driven that Africa can achieve a healthier continent.
