Valentine Dushimiyimana is an intuitive public health scientist with a passion for making a positive impact on society. With over 12 years of experience in the health sector, she has developed extensive research and managerial skills, working with network of public health and research scientist. Her determination, vision, heard work, and ambition have earned her reputation as a respected leader in the field of global health.
Valentine is the Ag. Strategic Information Specialist at Research Innovation and Data Science Division, Rwanda Biomedical Centre and she is a fellow of the 2023 East Africa cohort of the WomenLift Health leadership program; and is a Young African Leaders Initiative Alumni.
She has held various position through her career, including CV analyst for Master and fellows at Ghent University, contact tracer in the Rwanda COVID-19 Joint Task Force (JTF), Regulatory Affairs Senior Officer at Medical Research Centre / RBC, Inventory Staff at farmer Medical Procurement and Distribution Division / RBC. She has received numerous prizes for her work including the 2020 L’oreal-UNESCO For Women in Science Sub-Sahara Africa Young Talent. She has been a principal or co-investigator on different projects, currently she is leading a cohort investigating the health determinant for major non communicable diseases among people living with HIV in Rwanda.Beyond her work, she server as an activist in different area such as entrepreneurship,environment, women and health with numerous initiatives advocating for shifting power from word to action; and mentor the youth to transform their dream into reality toward a bright future.
