Primary health care (PHC) systems that provide equitable access to promotive, preventive, and curative care are essential to achieving universal health coverage (UHC). However, up to 615 million people in Africa cannot access the health services they need.

This session will explore practical approaches for building routine systems to integrate community insights to drive PHC systems change. A panel of thought leaders from VillageReach, ThinkPlace Kenya, Graça Machel Trust, and the Malawi Ministry of Health will discuss their experiences.

Participants will gain practical knowledge of how they can advance progress towards UHC by increasing the responsiveness of the PHC system towards the needs and preferences of under-reached communities.
