The objective of this session is to share the results and lessons from the implementation of the PEN-Plus partnership in Southern Africa. We aim to i) describe PEN-Plus implementation through demonstration of the history of the program in Malawi, the country in the region that has moved to the scale-up phase and implements the program nationwide; and ii) share the experiences of the first PEN-plus clinics in Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe – countries that opened their first PEN-Plus clinics at rural district hospitals in 2022 – and are currently planning for expansion and/or national scale-up.
