The Global Oxygen Alliance (GO₂AL), co-chaired by Unitaid and the Global Fund, and vice-chaired by the Africa CDC and PAHO/WHO, promotes collective efforts to make oxygen affordable, and accessible in low- and middle-income countries. Since its launch in May 2023, it has aligned its Strategy with the landmark World Health Assembly (WHA) Oxygen Resolution (an initiative that began in Africa and a process co-led by African countries), which was adopted during the 76 WHA by 194 Member States. Many of GO₂AL’s member organizations are partnering with/working in African countries to strengthen oxygen ecosystems.
