The Global Oxygen Alliance (GO2AL), co-chaired by Unitaid and the Global Fund, and vice-chaired by the Africa CDC and PAHO/WHO, promotes collective efforts to make oxygen affordable, and accessible in low- and middle-income countries. Since its launch in May 2023, it has aligned its Strategy with the landmark World Health Assembly (WHA) Oxygen Resolution (an initiative that began in Africa and a process co-led by African countries), which was adopted during the 76 WHA by 194 Member States. Many of GO2AL’s member organizations are partnering with/working in African countries to strengthen oxygen ecosystems.
This side event (see details, agenda and speakers here) will showcase:
- The Global Oxygen Alliance’s mission, objectives and efforts laid out in its Strategy
- Bring together Africa-based ministries of health, development partners, industry and NGO/CSO to share best practices and celebrate collaborative approaches to building stronger oxygen ecosystems
Hosted by Global Oxygen Alliance (Secretariat hosted by Unitaid, WHO and UNICEF)
